Hello, and welcome! My name is Carrie and I live in Pennsylvania with my husband and two cats, Maddie and Moose.  They are very tolerant of all the yarn, but Moose definitely likes to help a little too much!

You might be wondering why the blog is called The Knitting Moose.  Well, this name was actually the brainchild of a friend of mine.  She came up with it and we both thought it was catchy, and so it stuck!  She also helped draw the little picture you see up above. 

When Moose was a tiny kitten, I started to blog more frequently and began to get readers.  In fact, I shamelessly lured readers over from the Rockin’ Sock Club ‘07 blog by mentioning I had a kitten helping me with my knitting!  And so it began.  The name made sense and the rest is history!

For those of you who like cat photos, here are some to share with you.  This is our older kitty Maddie:

Maddie’s a real sweetheart, purrs a lot, likes to knead soft things and settle in for a nap.  However, she does NOT like Moose! He’s young and crazy and has so much energy we need to learn how we can harness it to save on our power bill. ;o)
